The structure of Volcanoes

Volcanoes all have the same basic structure inside them. A mound of volcanic rock creates the distinctive mountainous structure with a crater in the very top. A magma chamber can be found inside the volcano which narrows into a vent. Smaller vents can be found in the sides of the volcano .The magma becomes lava when it reaches the surface – it is effectively molten rock.
